Hi, scholars! Now that you have an initial topic proposed, you are ready to start your scholarly research. I would like for all of you to have 3-4 articles by next Wednesday, January 17th. For each of the credible sources/articles you find, you must complete an article tag. You can find a copy of the article tag linked below, but you must print it out and write it by HAND. There are also many copies of this article tag in my classroom. Please be sure to take a few copies for yourself!
REMEMBER, EVERY PERSON IN THE GROUP MUST HAVE HIS OR HER OWN COPY OF THE ARTICLE TAG PER ARTICLE. EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR READING AND INTERACTING WITH THE NON-FICTION TEXTS!
Do you have to print the articles? NO. You can save them (annotated versions) in your google drive folders OR through your Kami accounts. I will be checking that you have them periodically, so please do not discard them. Plus, you need to reference them for textual evidence. Be sure to lightly annotate them (write comments, connections, and highlight important parts of the article).
After finding the 3-4 articles, we will start drafting driving questions and then finish up our scholarly research by finding the remaining 6-8 articles (as level 2 students need 9-12 articles in total). Please watch the very long but extremely important video below, as we are missing several days of instruction due to the MLK Jr. Holiday and MAP Testing.
Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me. Do your best, Mustangs!
